Maeve Doherty | Artist

Full time registered artist Maeve Doherty has been exhibiting for over twenty-five years and working at her studio in Waterford City.

Remarkably, before turning to art, Maeve was a registered nurse at hospitals in both Dublin and Waterford. However, circa 1990, the Wexford native decided to turn her lifelong passion for painting into a career.

Maeve's distinctive painting style has developed over the years into one which has gained her local and national recognition. Her watercolour paintings have been awarded by the Ulster Watercolour Society, among other organisations.

A regular exhibitor, her works have also been commissioned by both private and public collectors, as well as awarded to well known public figures such as former Irish President Mary MacAleese, former American Ambassador to Ireland, Jean Kennedy Smith and former FBI Director Louis Freeh. Maeve's work also hangs in corporate collections both at home and abroad, including Áras an Uachtaráin, Trinity College Dublin, Waterford City Council, F.A.I. Headquarters, Dublin, J.F.K. Aircraft Carrier and the U.S. Navy.

Throughout the year, Maeve takes commissions from clients at her studio in Waterford City
